A settlement in the cove of the same name on the northeastern part of the island of Pag, 0.5 km north of Novalja; 234 apartment. The economic basis is agriculture, viticulture, fishing and tourism. It is protected from storms and the south. For larger ships, the safest anchorage is south of the Drljande cove at a depth of 27-38 m. Smaller ships and yachts with a draft of up to 3.5 m moor on the outside of the knee-shaped jetty (in front of the settlement). It is on the main road (M29). Near Stara Novalja there are remains of ancient walls, a late antique necropolis, the ruins of the pre-Romanesque church of St. Crisis. Since the ferry port was moved to Žigljen (except for exceptional weather conditions), Stara Novalja is a quiet place with an offer of family accommodation and boarding services, suitable for a family holiday.
